The film adaptation of James Patterson’s series of novels about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross
Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in the 1997 film Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 film sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in the 2012 film Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and prompted Lionsgate to scrap its previously planned sequel Double Cross.

As an avid fan of James Patterson’s original series (not counting his co-writers), I was eagerly anticipating how the main character would compare to Alex Cross in the books.
His moody attitude and bulging biceps make you think the writers never read the books
It continues when he’s moody, low-spirited, has no self-control – nothing like Alex Cross in the books.
Ticks all the boxes with its predictability, but overall an easy watch
So once you get that out of your head and watch for what it is, it’s very enjoyable.
